Make sure to adjust your firing pin before taking your rifle to the test drive . You can find " adjustment " videos on YouTube as well .

The point of aim proof means that the sights are properly adjusted and it hits where you aim it. Black powder proof means that rifle was tested with black powder and passed the test . I can be wrong but this is what I was able to find on the subject .

I have read somewhere that none corrosive ammo for Mosin simply do not exist, they all corrosive , I am not claiming it to be 100% accurate , just sharing the info .

Either I had a major brain fart or that store had 2 1940's Mosins with hex receivers. I was 100 % sure that they had 1943 with hex , turned out they had 1944 Izhevsk with hex receiver . I ask them about it but they were not sure what they had . So now I have 2 Mosins : 1939 Izhevsk with round receiv...

I just called to the store and they still have it . I ask them to put it on hold for me and they said they will . It is actually 1944 ( Tula/octagon ) . I was more than sure it was 1943.... I do not think it meters . I am exited!

Some of the first Mosins were made in France for Russian imperial forces , I do not remember the name of the Factory , those are extremely hard to find . As someone mentioned earlier American made Mosins are not easy to find. Also Izhevsk 1943 are harder to find .

Same thing happened to me . I bought my first Mosin 91/30 2 weeks ago and probably going to buy another one tomorrow . I got hooked on Mosins . My girlfriend is not very happy , she said that I have already too many guns :) Besides Mosin I have Walther PPQ and S&W M&P 15-22 . I made mistake ...

I am going to check that store tomorrow so if they still have that 1943 Tula ( hex ) then I will buy it .After reading all the posts above I think it would be nice to have it . Thanks again for your help .
