The Russian Mosin Nagant Forum

I’ve added more photos of the rifle. Any particular additional photos I’d be glad to show. Thanks. Prof

Acquired this 91/30 today. My first Ex-Sniper and appears to be an Ex-PE Sniper. Both sides of the receiver appear to show grinding marks, but the rifle appears to be in an Ex-PU stock. Typical post-war stock so I didn’t show rest of the rifle. All matching except for the bolt, which I’d expect was ...

It’s best left as is, for historical purposes. Keep it and show it for the sporterized that it is.

Let me be the one to welcome you to the forum. Very nice rifle. Prof

Thanks for sharing. Any M44 with a hex receiver is very cool. Prof

What do you value them at?

Sorry about the 1994 - I tried to correct the thread title...

Here are photos of the import markings. Prof

Full view - not sure why the photo won't load...

Many thanks to Racerguy who referred me to a fellow just south of Erie. Here are photos for consideration of any and all. My first PU. I was out the door at 3/4 of a G for this specimen. If the photos are upside down I hope they'll correct. Otherwise I'll reload them. I have more pics of the stock a...

My understanding on cleaning rods for M91 is that originals are very hard to find, however there are reproductions out there.
As for handguards, good luck and keep hunting. You might run into one someday.

So what was the BIN price on the lot? It was a Buy It Now for $100 for the six M91 handguards, and two other carbine hanguards, one of which was an M91/59. I wanted it and would have snagged it had I had the funds in Paypal. I would have then put it on here to find the handguards their homes. Prof

As soon as they appeared as a lot they were scooped up.
Six M91 handguards and a few 91/59 handguards.
They were a buy it now. I have a line on an M91 that needs a handguard.
Just wondering.

For weeping the cosmoline out of the stock, I wrapped the bare stock in paper towels then tightly in a black trash bag. Back window of my car on a hot summer day, wipe and repeat.
It weeps the stock nicely.

Hey in my inexperienced opinion I think you did well. At first thought the pitting on the barrel and rear sight area is considerable, but hey it's a 1900. For that price I think you got a deal, especially since everything is there!

Well done. Prof

This is a 1928 Mosin hex receiver 5 line Tula ex Dragoon. The gun is in excellent shape and shoots very well. The barrel is clean and has not been counter bored. The stock has not been refinished and is prewar style. Well this is my first Armslist purchase from out of state. Thought about driving fr...

Guys, again my apologies for breaking the rules on posting a live auction. I will refrain going forward. It was a learned lesson though in learning just how rare, and how speculative these rifles can be. On a side note, I saw the exact s/n rifle and language listed on Armslist Sunday morning. It was...

My apologies for busting the rules. I will not let that happen again.
I understand that low numbers mean rarity, was just wondering more of the details as i hadn't heard of this puppy before.
Prof

Hi guys - my apologies if this is already being discussed, but what am I missing here? I can understand only 200 produced, and I could understand a few thousand, but over twelve? Pardon me but ... holy crap !! :big shock: **here was once the link to a rare Finn M91, it may return once the auction is...

Nice! Great find. Prof
