Re: Ammo stash
This question depends on how fast you expect to go through the ammo and how long you expect the problem to last. 1000 rounds per rifle is a rule of thumb you'll find on the Internet, usually with caveats for handguns, .22LR, and shotgun. The recent ammo shortage is causing lots of people to rethink ...

Re: SKS and ammo.
I don't think it's panic buying anymore. It's become plain that any gun restrictive legislation other than perhaps extended capacity magazines will face an uphill battle and more than likely fall on it's face. I don't think this is correct and that is why the panic may appear irrational. We have go...

Re: This Ammo Thing Is Crazy !!!!!!
What we are seeing now is not crazy, but a completely rational response to the political environment. Lot's of folks have suddenly realized that they either may not be able to get what they want in the future, or will be able to get it with much more bureaucratic difficulty, so they have accelerated...

Dewey Rods come in lengths at least to 36", which is fits a 91/30 from the breech end. Just remove the bolt and the rod goes right through.

Oh well I can't blame anyone, everyone else is just doing what I want to do, they are just quicker on the draw  I think you're the first one I've seen that has a healthy attitude about the situation, as opposed to all the whiners looking to blame "hoarders" (the guys who bought early...

Re: SKS and ammo.
The buying panic for ammo is not irrational. While the likelihood of federal restrictions on ammo seem remote, the likelihood of background checks to buy ammo, amount restrictions, restrictions on Internet sales, etc. In anti states is there. NY has some nonsense in their new law. What if CA follows...

Re: the ammo is gone
For those trying to understand the dynamic here, it is best understood through "The Beer Game" which is a game that simulates a supply chain. I first learned of it in a book titled "The Fifth Discipline" by Sengi.

The Russians stored this stuff for decades right in the spam cans it comes in. It's pretty durable though I would not recommend using it for firewood. If you can keep it cool and dry that's best.

Re: Mosins gone!
There is a little trickle down effect going on with the current panic. First folks want the stuff they suspect will be banned. Then they want stuff that won't be banned so they have something they can actually use. Then they want whatever they can get because everything else is sold out. Then they w...

Re: 10 round mosin nagant magazine
putting an expensive accessory on an inexpensive rifle does cause one to stop and consider. except on sks boards, those guys spend $250-$300 in plastic parts and optics which summed up is a $250 gun plus $300 worth of crap equals $550 and the ultimate value after mods is $100 :chuckles: :chuckles: ...
