Re: SOG M44's?
I called them about a month ago to inquire about the M44's because the price looked really good. The lady told me that all of them are counter-bored. I'm trying to hold out to see if I can find one that hasn't been counter-bored. We'll see what the up coming gun show has...

Re: Shims for M90/31
Sounds like some great ideas. Thanks everyone!
The cork sounds interesting, and I think I'll try that first when/if my Mosin needs some shimming. I'm sure I'll end up experimenting with a few different things in the end, though.

Shims for M90/31
Does anyone know where you can get some shims for the M90/31's or how to make them? I'm interested in experimenting with one of my Mosin's when I actually get a chance to fire one of them. I've read that sometimes it will make a difference and other times it won't as every gun is different. I didn't...

Re: 91/30 prices are creeping up
$125 for M91/30's both round and hex for the time being at the local gun shop in Falls Church, VA. It's actually more because (after tax) the guy is trying to charge a $30 "transfer fee" on all of his in-store, retail transactions!! This is whether you buy one, two, or three rifles...it do...

Re: My First Finnish M39 - Info/Feedback Appreciated
FlyinBrian, Thanks for the info on the pressure stamp. Very useful. I was also wondering was the "2" stamping was when I got it. I found a thread on another forum and also some info on 7.62x54r.net. Here's the forum thread: http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?250856-quot-2-quot-stam...

Re: My First Finnish M39 - Info/Feedback Appreciated
@MadisonAV, Wow, sounds you've got quite the collection. I can clearly see the difference in quality and attention to detail when I hold it next to my other Russian 91/30's (not that I love them any less, lol). Thank you for the background/historical info and also on how to adjust the front sight. I...

Re: My First Finnish M39 - Info/Feedback Appreciated
Here's another side shot of the receiver but I can't tell what the markings are next to the SA mark. I'll have a closer look tomorrow and report back. Also a shot of the wood plug in the stock. I have a box of 20 rounds of Tula ammo (supposedly non-corrosive), but am about to order 880 rounds of eit...

Re: My First Finnish M39 - Info/Feedback Appreciated
@BuckeyeSgt, I'm in the USA. Which marking(s) in particular are you talking about? @desdem12, I can only guess that this rifle has been been re-blued because it seems to be in unissued condition with nearly 100% bluing on all of the metal, but this is just an educated guess just by looking at it. I ...

My First Finnish M39 - Info/Feedback Appreciated
Hello everyone. I'm new to Mosin's and recently acquired my first M39. It's 1941 Sako that looks to be completely arsenal refurbished with a post war, 2-piece stock (square finger joints). It didn't come with a sling or any accessories so I need to get a sling, but just need to decide which color le...
