Re: New PU (PICS)
Yes, he had sold them all a while ago. I know the rust is common, though. My 33 Tula has some about the same.

Re: New PU (PICS)
Bore is beautiful. There is some pitting on the outside of the barrel, and it was shaved down a slight slight bit with a lathe. Other than that, its all beautiful.

New PU (PICS)
So my new PU came today. I am from Canada remember, and these were being advertised as original repros. Some of them are blurry, sorry. I will try to retake some later. http://i49.tinypic.com/ive88p.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/21e3m6a.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/a4mw7c.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/244eb...

Re: Original PU, non repro
I would spend the money if I lived in the USA. But he says these are original scopes, original rifles, and were refinished in Russia.. Got them straight from Russia. I would imagine Russia would make some kind of fakes too, but I hope its real
I ordered one today.

Re: Original PU, non repro
Okay so i talked to him, he said theyre original stamped scopes, not electro penciled. He says he got them imported from Russia, i asked for 1942 tula he said none left.. So I guess he HAD some. He said 1942 will be hard to find, maybe he means in his storage, to find me a 1942. If he cant find me a...

I will ask for pictures, and if it all checks out Im gonna get it. Is there a specific year I should try and get? Any important markings or anything I should know a...

Original PU, non repro
I have a chance to get an apparently non repro PU sniper. Original scope, non electro penciled, everything. This is from a legitimate website. Its for 650 dollars. Is this a good deal?

Re: Two Mosins to choose from..
How would they get their hands on a 1924? Would it possibly been traded from other European countries?

It's a legitimate gun website up here in Canada. He only takes money orders. I will see if he can send more pics though.

Re: Two Mosins to choose from..
He says the Finns traded or bought mosins with the Russians before the winter war. He says it saw combat. It was a private deal before he was selling it from his website, so they do not have any cosmoline on them. He says there is no SA mark because it was too early or something. But I saw a picture...

Two Mosins to choose from..
Hello. I have 3 Mosin Nagants already. I have a 1933 Tula with blade sight, 1943 war torn, and 1944 M44. I am looking at buying a non Soviet Mosin Nagant, and I have a choice between two. A 1924 Tula, Traded or bought by the Finns, with Finnish sights and sling swivels. No SA mark, apparently it was...

Re: SVT-40 cleaning..
Ahhh that makes sense. Thank you Junkyard dog. I won't run any more patches through it, then. I only did maybe 15 or so after it stopped coming back black. So it should be all clean now.

Re: SVT-40 cleaning..
Sadly my brass cleaning rod and brass rifle brush broke.. both during the svt cleaning. I will be buying a new one soon. The barrel was dark and pitted when I bought it, as most SVT40s seem to be.. I don't think there is any corrosive material anywhere on my rifle, though. I bet most of it was gone ...

Re: SVT-40 cleaning..
Well yeah I've cleaned all the pistons and and everything, I did that the day of shooting. Also, I've put windex down the barrel, I did that the day of shooting as well. I just feel like it's still dirty and I don't want to ruin a piece of history because I can't clean it properly. I've cleaned unti...

SVT-40 cleaning..
So I took my SVT40 out about a week or so ago, and I cleaned it that night. I ran about 50 nitro solvent patches through the barrel, and cleaned all the areas where the residue was pitch black, and now it comes back kind of grey. Is that normal? When I clean my other rifles it comes back clean, but ...
