Orange amps are really nice. Tube amp watts go a long way. 5-15 is perfect. Blackstar amps are also good tube amps. I guess that company was some of the original Marshall guys.

Re: CMP
The CMP does not only ship to FFL 01. When you do all their paper work they will ship your Garand to your door FFL or not. When I bought mine March 19, 2019 UPS left it leaning on my front door. Their requirements for their .45's are a different story. I should’ve clarified, it depends on the state...

Re: Ammo prices
Everything in the above posts are true but there is a new factor. That group of card carrying, sign toting people that 90 days ago were telling you that you were the devil for having a firearm are now buying a handgun or shotgun or in some cases both. At the gun shop I work at we have sold more &qu...

Re: Letters Of Authenticity Question
Maybe this is why... places like IMA-USA offer a certificate of authenticity on almost everything (For a fee). Here’s a POST war enfield sling for $14.99 that you can get a COA with: https://www.ima-usa.com/collections/british-field-gear/products/original-post-wwii-dated-british-enfield-web-khaki-sl...

Good eye. I didn’t notice the measuring tape. Why are they showing the measuring tape if they didn’t know it was cut?

Re: Ammo prices
My local gun shops in upstate NY said they sold out of all ammo when covid hit and panic started when places were being closed and you couldn’t find toilet paper to buy. When they ordered businesses like gun shops in NY as “non essential” they were forced to close by a certain date. Those last three...

Re: Home Improvements...
I’d like to see how it turns out. If I had the space and the money I day dream about making a hidden area or room. Like coming out about five or six feet from a long wall and building a wall with a door that looks like a bookcase or something to conceal that there’s now a room behind it. Theres lots...

Re: COVID-19
We will all be getting this sooner or later, all we can do is try to put off that moment as long as possible in the hope somebody comes up with a viable vaccine and it's produced in enough quantity to matter. Someone was marveling at how incredibly good this virus is at transmitting itself, kind of...

Re: Any other guitar players here
Nice collection! Charvel makes great guitars.. you probably know that since you have three! Is that red one a Carvin? I remember Jason Becker played Carvin in the 80’s. Guitars and guns (make cash register sound)...two expensive hobbies.

I’m in the construction industry on the east coast. I see a lot of these factories, buildings, (even schools) with amazing history being turned into retail shops, coffee bars, and restaurants with condo’s on the upper floors. It’s interesting to see the transformation but sad to see that history dis...

Re: My Early B-day Present
Looks like a nice rifle. What the other people responding are saying is that the wood stock was altered to look more modern after the war. They call this sporterized. People buy military surplus rifles and sporterize them to use for hunting, target, etc. unfortunately most of the guns value is lost ...

I'm a member of an affiliated shooting club, got my C&R and my concealed weapons permit, so there's no issue for me-they just don't have anything I want badly enough. I have my C&R also, but they don’t accept that to ship to. They only ship to FFL-01 You need to be a member of a shooting cl...

Re: M1 Garand Relative Value Question
Hi. I just had a Garand on order from the CMP. It was for a service grade most likely Springfield $750.00. I got an email that I could upgrade ($330) to a service grade IHC. I declined because I was hoping to get something earlier than the IHC years, preferably WW2 era. So that puts a mixed part IHC...

Re: What to look for when buying an Ex-Dragoon?
If I were in the market anymore, I would want to make sure that the stock was a prewar stock that was appropriate for the rifle. I know that the stock would likely be a replacement from refurbishment but, to me, it's best to have the appropriate stock on the rifle. This is what I would look for. Wh...

What to look for when buying an Ex-Dragoon?
I bought my first Mosin 91/30 a couple months ago. I had no idea what to look for except a hex receiver and matching numbers. It was kind of spur of the moment, local gun shops were closed due to covid (NY) and one shop advertised they got 24 Mosins in and had a deal going and to call. I called, the...

Re: New Member - Purchased 1st Mosin - Questions!
Just wanted to update that I finally took the time to clean the rifle thoroughly and I think it turned out great. I think I did all right for my first being a 1934 hex with all stamped matching parts and in such great condition. Thanks again for all of the info on this and for helping to learn more ...

All finished. She’s a 1934 hex with all stamped matching parts. Low serial too, 122. Thanks for the help and advice. This was my first, and I can see it being addicting. Thanks again.
