Re: SOG M44's?
I called them about a month ago to inquire about the M44's because the price looked really good. The lady told me that all of them are counter-bored. I'm trying to hold out to see if I can find one that hasn't been counter-bored. We'll see what the up coming gun show has... Of ALL of my ...

SOG M44's?
Has anyone acquired an M44 from SOG recently? If so how was the quality?
I'd like to add one to my collection.

Re: century 91/30's
The local Dunham's had a Mosin sale for $79.99. Were all sold out so I got a raincheck. I got called that my gun came in. Went with my friend and let him use my raincheck (I'll use his raincheck when his comes in). Out came a CAI box with my name on. Gave it to my friend as he unboxed it. Out came a...

Re: AIM Has Round, Hex and Laminate M91/30s Again
Hex hand pick or not? I just want a Hex, don't care about factory or year. I noticed hand-pick fee not an option for the hex on the AIM site.

Re: 91/30 prices are creeping up
A store near me has 91/30's for $79.99 Sunday and Monday sale only. After that they jump back up all the way to $89.99. Might have to take a ride out Monday after work with my coffee money and see what they got. Last time I was at the store they 3 nice laminates for $109.00. --john '38 Tula '42 M39 ...

it looks like this idk why http://media.photobucket.com/image/recent/m1ryza/Damaged%252030-06%2520casings/IMG_2127.jpg Normal for M1's as far as I understand. My M1 does the same thing, depends on the lot of surplus ammo I use (always use ammo designed for the M1). The case ejects and sometimes spi...

Re: Painted M44 stock...ugh!
I already have a bid on this gun and would appreciate it very much if you would not run the price up. Thank you. If you see a bidder named tcrenegade54 that is me. best regards, Russell No problem, by bidder name is same as my forum name here. I won't outbid you but if others jump in and they are h...

Painted M44 stock...ugh!
There is a black painted M44 stock with almost perfect metal that may be had for a low price. Is it worth it pick this up and try and strip the paint and restore the stock? Otherwise replacement M44 stocks seem to be hard to find.

Re: First 5 shots very tight...after that not so much
Man, that is some nice shooting...and impressive homework on the hand loads. Also, though your son has a different line of sight than you, he did an impressive job! Nicely done :) :D That load was the first one I tried (right out of the Hornady manual). I was expecting I would need to tweak it and ...

Re: First 5 shots very tight...after that not so much
Well, went to the range to try some initial hand loads. Slugged the barrel at 0.313+ and loaded some Hornady 0.312 diam bullets. Shot at 50 yrds alternating shots between my hand load and Russian surplus to take out any barrel heating effects in the comparison. Pic below. Upper right "group&quo...

Re: Another S.O.G. M39
Thanks,
I think I can persuade my LGS to order one for me. I am also new to Mosin collecting and the bug has bitten, its the above considered a fair deal?

Re: First 5 shots very tight...after that not so much
Try taking the rear shim out, and just use a shim at the front about 2-3 inches back from the muzzle. Then after that double it over and see what the results are. If she shoots consistant within 6 inches at 100yds, your rifle is capable of winning a milsurp match, and the rest is up to you. Semper ...
