Re: Help needed please to verify PU scope
Thanks guys for that confirmation, it is nice to know that it is a genuine arsenal refinish. I was also wondering about the amber lens but also have a more general question regarding these scopes. Please excuse any mistakes in the question. Were P.U. scopes manufactured in 1940 for use on the SVT 40...

Help needed please to verify PU scope
Hi Help needed please. I know very little on how to tell a genuine PU scope from a fake. This one is in great condition and has an orange tinted lens so shouts fake. I would really appreciate your feedback on this. 8F714AA3-6E97-44E2-AED2-2265760CBDE8.jpeg 9896952E-910B-4ED6-BA5C-D93CDAB894DF.jpeg 0...

Re: PE Sniper ?????
Many thanks for that very useful information. I thought that would be the case but I got it for a good price and the scope itself was what I really wanted from the set up.

Re: PE Sniper ?????
Many thanks Miller for that info, I will try to get some more photos added of the mount. Also could you please advise of the differences between a correct base and a repro one, is it the screw heads ?

PE Sniper ?????
Hi Everyone Picked up this Mosin ‘PE’ ? Sniper this week in Scotland. The very nice man held it for me till I could get up there and I tried to do as much research on PE’s before Traveling up. I think the scope is original, the upper scope mount is stamped with the serial number of the rifle and in ...

I don’t believe I would want your help if you are small minded enough to dissect individual words in a title

PE and PEM Sniper info required please
Good morning all Having spent the last few months reading up and trying to learn about the PU sniper rifle I am happy to report that I have been able to tell two dealers face to face that the snipers they are trying to sell are Mickey Mouse ones and not original as they are advertising. Not that its...

Re: Polish m44 query
Fair play George, that's an excellent job......can I ask who did it for you?, in case I ever need a job like that doing. Its a local chap who lives near me. Hes been restoring firearms since he was 16 and his work is superb. He has done a few bits for me one of which was taking a ZF41 scope to piec...

Very Good job on that bolt. What are the markings on the right side of that receiver
Photo of receiver markings for Mr Steelbuttplate. Not sure what they all mean myself yet.

Bubba bolt no more
I have just received my turned down M44 bolt back from my man who has turned it from a bubba back to how it should be. I have shown it alongside an unaltered one. Can you spot the difference ?. I think he has done a great job.

Re: Polish m44 query
Thanks all for the comments. Out of interest what is the going rate for a Polish m44 in the states (unaltered). I paid £400.00 squids for this one, was that over the top ?. The problem in the UK is that stuff is not so readily available and sometimes you have to take whats out there. I think I will ...

Re: Polish m44 query
Yes, I thought it looked a bit suspect when I saw it advertised (even though the dealer said '' Because thats the way they make 'em'' when I asked why it had a bent handle. That confirmed my suspicions when he made that comment. That said I went into the sale with my eyes open and also because the r...

Re: Identification required on PU sniper please
Hi
Yes, I think you are right. It does tell a tale (just would like to find out what that tale is). Are there other instances where stocks have been fitted with an old scope mount cut out which did not match the new mount ?.
Cheers
George

Re: Identification required on PU sniper please
Hi Guys Many thanks for the information supplied it has really helped my knowledge along. With regard to the extra cut out in front of scope mount, as you mentioned Mr S (I am from Grimsby by the way), the stock has a matching stamped serial number, under the butt plate that corresponds with the oth...

Re: Identification required on PU sniper please
Hi Many thanks for the replies Mr Tyme and Mr Snayperskaya Sorry for being a bit light on Mosin Knowledge but I have listed a few queries below in order to help me understand things a little more. 1) You say it is one of the latter batches that came out of Russia 6-7 years ago. Is that confirmed due...
